FIRST LEGO League Intermediate Camp (Grades 5-7)

FIRST® LEGO® League (FLL®) During this week-long, full-day camp for experienced students, you and your team will learn more advanced techniques in both robotic programming and mechanical design. Topics include digital/analog sensors, mechanical sensors, subroutines, and advanced logic. Your team will build, program, and design robots to complete tasks similar to those found in the FIRST LEGO League competitions. The week will culminate with a poster session and robot showcase. Campers must have experience building and programming LEGO Mindstorms (EV3 or NXT) robots to enroll. Students should have prior knowledge to the following skills in order to participate in the intermediate level camp.

  • have previously participated in FLL or worked extensively with LEGO robotics
  • understand how to use mathematical models to move the robot in a straight line and turn
  • know the use and function of sensors
  • understand switch and loops statements
