Fulton Academy
Students take part in both instructor-led engineering design challenges and activities with a highly interactive hands-on and inquiry-based approach. Our camps explore concepts of coding, circuits, computer aided design, entrepreneurship, engineering design process, and many other STEM competencies. Whichever camp you choose, you are sure to gain new knowledge and/or enhance your skills and be prepared to create, design, build, and engineer!

National Summer Transportation Institute (NSTI), June 4-9, 2023 (Residential)
Grades: Rising 11th and 12th grade
Are you an Arizona high school student interested in learning more about engineers and how they impact our world and society? The National Summer Transportation Institute will engage you in projects and field trips that demonstrate how engineers plan and maintain our systems of transportation around the state of Arizona. As an NSTI participant you will live on campus for one week while interacting with ASU engineering faculty and students, engaging in transportation-related field trips, and completing a project related to maintaining safe, sustainable, and efficient transit. This program is FREE and is designed for highly accomplished and motivated students.

Summer Engineering Experience, June 11th-16th, 2023 (Residential)
Grades: Rising 11th and 12th grade.
Join other motivated high school students for an exciting introduction to engineering at ASU. During this week-long residential camp, live on campus and learn what it takes to be an engineer and work alongside professors to understand all the different areas within engineering.

STEAMpunk Machines™ in Motion Camp @ ASU Polytechnic Campus, June 12-16, 2023
Grades: Rising 8th – 12th graders
Description: Board your airships and jettison the ballast! Join in the fight to save a dystopian realm and create beautiful and imaginative kinetic sculptures that tell your hero’s tale. Immerse yourself in a world of gears, gadgets, and gizmos as you explore the exciting world of steampunk. In this immersive week-long camp, participants in grades 8 – 12 will be introduced to the engineering design process while they learn and use basic science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts to construct their own steampunk-themed automata. With expert instructors on hand to guide you every step of the way, you’ll experience hands-on learning and problem-solving like never before. Instructional content will focus on mechanical movement design, electric circuits, genre specific aesthetics, retro-futuristic storytelling, programming, and computational thinking. The project-based approach will emphasize problem identification, brainstorming, problem solving, rapid prototyping, teamwork, and communication. The camp will culminate with an exposition of finished automata projects that student engineers can take home with them! Don’t miss this unforgettable opportunity to spark your imagination and unleash your inner inventor! This camp runs from 9 AM – 5 PM each day. Enroll now and get ready to power up your summer!

Foldable Robotics Summer Camp, June 12-16, 2023
In this exciting hands-on, day camp, participants will be introduced to the principles of robot design through origami – the art of paper folding – to prototype, ideate, and get a hands-on sense of the physics of robots.

Chain-Reaction STEAM Machines™ + Storytelling Camp, June 12-15, 2023
Description: Participants will be introduced to the engineering design process while learning basic science, technology, engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) concepts like simple machines, electric circuits, programming, computational thinking, music, and storytelling. The project-based approach will emphasize problem identification, brainstorming, problem-solving, rapid prototyping, teamwork, and communication. The camp will culminate with the design and construction of a giant thematic chain-reaction machine and the performance of an oral story describing the machine!

LEGO® Robotics Camp, June 19-21, 2023
Grades: Rising 5th and 6th grade
Campers will build and program functional robots using the LEGO® Education SPIKE™ Prime kits. Students will begin by building a basic robot equipped with programmable sensors. Then, students can let their imagination soar as they adapt their robots to complete a variety of challenges including a line-following challenge, climb-the-mountain challenge, and everyone’s favorite, the sumo ring tournament!

Summer Engineering Experience, July 10-14, 2023 (Non-Residential)
Grades: Rising 11th and 12th graders
Join other motivated high school students for an exciting introduction to engineering at ASU. During this week-long camp, students will be able to learn what it takes to be an engineer and work alongside professors to understands all the different areas within engineering.
