Engineering | Fulton Engineering Education Outreach

Calling Fulton student orgs, lab directors, engineering faculty, and STEM outreach partners! Fulton Schools of Engineering is pleased to announce this year’s field trip days and to invite you to be one of our featured presenters.

A Day in the Life of…Field Trip Days offer 3rd-12th graders a unique ASU experience. They spend half a day rotating through a series of STEM-related activities with current Fulton undergrads as their guides. We think you will find it is an excellent opportunity to promote your programs and inspire students to further engage in STEM educational activities.

Presenters will deliver a 45 minute session in three rotations with around 30-40 students in each rotation.

Frequently Asked Questions

What type of activities would you recommend?
Interactive sessions such as a demonstration, lab tour, hands-on activity/challenge, multimedia presentation, and the like, are highly recommended.

What grade are the visitors?
Field trips are split by grade level. We offer visits to Elementary (Grades 3-6), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12) students.

How are the students chaperoned?
Teachers are primarily responsible for chaperoning the students, with 1 adult for every 10 students. Volunteers, typically Fulton undergrads, serve as campus guides and assist with activities.

How large are the groups?

We expect up to 100 students who will be split into 3 smaller groups. There should be no more than 35 students in each of your presentations.

How long is my session?

You have 45 minutes for your presentation and there is a 15-minute buffer for travel between each session. Please be prepared to present up to 3 times. Note: If you are capable of taking all 100 students and prefer to do one presentation, please indicate that in the notes section of the sign-up form.

Can K-12 Outreach provide support?

Our team can help in the following ways: reserving a room (with ample lead time), providing swag to use as prizes, communicating info to teachers, providing 2 volunteers to assist.
