2018 STEAMhack™ Chain Reaction Challenge

ASU Tempe Campus SDFC Maroon Gym | 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM

In this exciting full-day event, teams will race against the clock to design, build, and test an elaborate, overcomplicated chain-reaction machine from a provided box of miscellaneous items that will “grow a cactus”. Participants will apply Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Math (STEAM) concepts as they piece together creative solutions, constrained only by time and materials.

All ages are welcomed, and family participation is encouraged. Team sizes will be set to six members total; smaller groups and individuals will be paired with other teams to ensure that every group has close to the same number of participants. Registration is set at $10 for teams of up to six members, so be sure to bring the whole family! Trophies will be awarded to the top three machines!

Water and snacks will be provided however, participants must provide their own lunches; restaurants available nearby on campus.

Registration Costs: Individuals: $5 | Teams of 6 or less: $10

All participants will receive two commemorative stickers and each registered team will receive a 5″ X 5″ commemorative magnet.
