Animal Allies Recap

Although we have tried our very best to make sure we’ve sent thank you emails to all of the groups of people involved in FLL, we want to make sure that we say it one more time – Thank You! There is no way that we could have had such an incredible FLL season without the participation of our mentors, teachers, students, volunteers, and partners. We are so honored to work with each and every one of you and are hoping to see you all back next year…

…but with that being said, we know we have a lot we can improve on. We have read the responses from the survey and hear you loud and clear. We are going to be be working on updating our website to make sure it is a one stop shop for all of the information, resources, and training materials that you need to have a successful season. It addition, we also hear a lot of you say that you want to hear from us more – even if it isn’t during season. We are going to be sending out more frequent newsletters with some great information about upcoming or related events to FLL: future camps, training sessions, and coaches workshops. If you don’t wish to receive these emails, you can unsubscribe at the bottom of the page, but we hope you stay in touch!

Managing over 360 teams and counting is a huge task for one person, which is why we are so excited to announce that AZ FLL has been awarded a VISTA. A VISTA is someone who makes a year long service commitment with a program, in this case FLL, to help better the community. I am so pleased to introduce to you, Brad Voracek! Brad comes to us from California with a background in computer science and economics. His position as a VISTA tasks him with creating resources that build capacity for FIRST within Arizona. The projects he is working on are creating an FLL programming curriculum, making our website a more helpful and user friendly tool for you all, and making a map of all FIRST teams within Arizona. Keep an eye out for these resources soon! If you have ideas for other projects you would like to see send him an email at!

We are looking for an enthusiastic summer camp teacher for our FIRST LEGO League Jr. Camps for our 1st to 3rd graders! The camps will take place at the ASU Polytechnic Campus from 8:00am-12:00pm during the second and third week in July. The camp is mostly exploratory (building with Legos!) with some simple machines such as pulleys and levers. This is a paid position. Please email if you are interested!
