Challenge | Robot Judging
The robot presentation is best compared to a professional engineering design review, where teams present their robots to panels tasked with selecting the robots that best exemplify mechanical design, programming, strategy, and innovation. given the size, parts, software, and time constraints. Teams should explain not only the end result, but also the steps used throughout the design process.
What to Bring
Teams are suggested to bring the following items to their presentation:
- Robot Design Worksheet
- Robot & Necessary Attachments
- Code Documentation
- Iteration of attachments (if available)
- How often does your robot fall apart? What happens and have you thought of ways to fix it?
- Would it be possible to use fewer pieces or components for your robot and still accomplish the same missions?
- Tell us abou how your robot uses attachments or other mechanisms to complete missions.
- What program do you feel is your best? Why?
- Do your robot’s programs achieve the same result every time? If not, why do you think this might happen?
- Would you explain which sensors you used, and how and why you used them?
- What was the greatest design or programming difficulty you encountered? How did you solve the problem?
- How did your team decide which missions to tackle?
- What part of your design, program, or strategy do you think is unique to your team?
