ASU’s Robotics Camps are summer program series designed for middle school and high school students who intend to pursue a science and engineering career. Camp instructors use component-based robot construction, robotics programming, Web programming, and Alice game programming as a vehicle to teach the latest engineering design concepts and computing technologies. The robots built by students will enter a robotics challenge and demonstration at the end of the camp. We plan to resume 9Up Camp in summer 2023. However, students entering grades 9 through 12 can attend 7Up camp. We will place them in high school student groups.
Professor Yinong Chen teaches at the camps along with several teaching assistants. Chen is a computing and robotics expert, who led ASU teams to win two champion titles in the “Ultimate Architecture Sumo-Robot Competition” in Las Vegas in 2005 and in 2006. He is also the organizer of the Arizona Robotics Challenge Series and ASU Robotics Team advisor, and has organized and instructed ASU Summer Robotics Camps since 2006.
